Xiaomi’s first made in India phone, also known as “Desh ka smartphone” will be available for purchase on Flipkart and Mi.com. The great thing about this handset is its price tag i.e. 4999 Rs.
Xiaomi will offer Redmi 5A for Rs 4999 to the first 5 million buyers. Once the Chinese firm sells 50 lakh units of 5A, it will increase the price of its low-budget phone by 1000 Rs.

Mi Desh Ka Smartphone: Xiaomi Redmi 5A features
5A sails on Android Nougat OS based MIUI 9.2 ROM and it features a 64-bit Qualcomm SD 425 SoC. The Snapdragon 425 processor and the latest OS makes Redmi 5A compatible with all types of Android applications.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A provides 2 dedicated SIM slots, which supports nano size Sim cards. The mobile lets you expand its 16GB storage memory up to 164GB as it features a microSD card slot. 5A offers an infrared sensor and it carries 2GB RAM to support multitasking.
The Xiaomi handset has a PDAF technology powered 13-megapixel rear camera, which is paired with a F/2.2 aperture and LED flash. It has a F/2.0 aperture enabled front 5-megapixel camera. The phone lets you record 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720 pixels resolution videos at 30 FPS.
The mobile ships with a low-end 500 Megahertz Adreno 308 graphics processor so that you can enjoy highly complex games at low or medium settings.
The Xiaomi 5000 Rs range mobile comes with a 12.7 centimeter (5-inch) display. The screen resolution is 1280 x 720 pixels and the pixel density is 297. Redmi 5A offers a reading mode feature. When you turn on this mode, the color and brightness of the screen will be optimized so as to reduce the stress on the user’s eyes.
Battery, price and other features
While most phones under 5000 Rs have a low-capacity 1500 to 2500 mAh battery, Redmi 5A has a 3000 mAh battery to blow the competition away. According to Xiaomi, 5A’s battery lasts for up to 420 minutes when you’re watching videos or playing games.
Redmi 5A weights 138 grams and it is 8.36 millimeters thin. It features BT HID (BT 4.1), GPS, FM Radio, rear loudspeaker, and WiFi. The mobile supports high-speed 4G networks. It lets you make VoLTE calls. It has normal SAR values.
