The devices are imported from Taiwan/Vietnam. They are designed by Reliance JIO. They are locked. Hence, you can use the devices only with a JIO SIM card.

The devices have a MicroSD card slot and include black color chassis. They support 31 simultaneous connections through 802.11 b/g/n mode enabled WiFi module. The device supports 2300, 850, 1300 MHz 4G-LTE bands.

On an average, the JIO LTE connection speed is 3 to 4 Mbps. The speed may drop if the network is heavily congested. The latency is within 20 to 100 ms.

Differences

JIOFI 3 has a 2600 mAh capacity battery whereas JF2 provides 2300 mAH battery.

Fi 3 weight is 256 grams. Fi2 is slightly lighter. Its weight is 232 grams.

F3 comes with three LED modules to indicate the battery, network coverage, and hotspot. The JioFi 2 features 4 LEDs.

The 3 LEDs in this device serve the same purpose i.e. make users aware of the battery life, connectivity, signal strength. The last LED indicates whether the user is using WPS or not.

The JIOFI 3 and its predecessor support password-based connectivity. They include a USB port. Hence, if you own a PC, you can enjoy 4G-LTE broadband by connecting the JIOFI device with the computer with the USB cable.

Conclusion: The JIO Prime membership is a great alternative to broadband plans provided by local players such as Tikona, BSNL, GTPL, You Telecom, Hathway, etc. If you want to enjoy 4G broadband, consider buying the JIOFI device and don’t forget to activate the Prime membership for your account.
