Due to the poor customer support and horrible experience with LAVA dongle, I had to ditch MTS MBlaze Ultra WiFi last month. I had opted for MTS Blaze after going through its positive reviews on some sites.
After a bad experience with MTS, I think it was a mistake to choose the broadband service on the basis of fake reviews. Anyways, As I work from home, I needed a reliable and high-speed internet connection. This time, I had shortlisted Reliance Pro 3, Airtel, Tikona, BSNL and Tata Photon.
Tikona has the best broadband plans among the 5. It also has a refund policy. If customers are not happy with its service, users can request for cancellation. After cancellation, the installation charges will be refunded. Thus, I decided to go for it. I started using Tikona broadband from 24th Feb last month. 20 days have passed by, I’m quite happy with it.
Tikona Broadband review
Installation
If you’re ready to use this broadband service, open the official Tikona website and enter your details (name, address, telephone number, etc) in the new customer form.
Within a few hours, a CSE will call you back. He’ll confirm the plan/address and arrange an engineer for installation of Tikona CPE device at your place. This is what I did! The engineer will visit your place the next day. He’ll install CPE on your house/building’s terrace.
Once the connection has been set up, the engineer will make you aware of Tikona login portal, connection speed, and user id. He’ll also share with you the method to generate login password. You’ll have to pay the subscription charges after the demo. The charges include 3 months bill payment and setup fees.
Tikona Customer Support
Tikona folks have set up a forum with which you can get answers to your technical queries. Just mention your problem in a new forum post and Tikona customer care executive/engineer will call you back with a solution.
For phone support, you can place a call to the 02240629629 number. Unlike many other telecom service providers, you don’t have to wait for 4 or 5 minutes for someone to answer your call. I had few queries regarding my broadband plan. Instead of calling, I used Tikona forum to seek customer support. Within 1 hour of my forum post, Tikona support engineer called me and explained the plan.
Tikona Speedtest
When I used MTS 3G+ network connection, the download speed never exceeded above 3 Mbps. I was subscribed to 5GB day/5GB night postpaid plan. The charges were 550 Rs + service tax. Now I’m using Tikona 4MBPS plan and I’m getting 15GB of data for just 600 Rupees.
The speed is consistent. It remains above 3 Mbps for most of the day. The internet latency is below 40 milliseconds. The FUP limit is 15GB. Once this limit has been reached, the speed will drop within 100 to 512 kbps. Whether it’s morning, night or the afternoon, Tikona broadband speed is always consistent and good. I hope it will remain the same.
Tikona data usage reports
Tikona has set up a self-care portal with which you can go through your daily internet usage reports, change your registered phone number, address or pay the bill. You can also check your renaming internet balance and last payment date with this online tool.

Note: This review is based on my 25 days of experience with Tikona broadband. It might change in the future.
It is good to see that someone is taking efforts and additional time to share their hands-on experience with all in the form of review. Tikona broadband is a know brand in the ISP sector, with a unique business model. I have many friends who have used their services and are pretty much happy.
