Coolpad has allied with LeEco for launching the world’s cheapest 4K content recording phone, the Cool1 Dual. The partnership is an interesting move as both the firms have established themselves as leading brands in China.
Cool1 Dual is Coopad’s best camera mobile phone and the third low-budget handset for LeEco after Le 1s, Le 2.
The Cool1 Dual phone includes Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor along with a powerful graphics processing unit, the Adreno 510. Half cores of SD652 have Cortex A72 architecture. They have 1800 MHz clock speed. Remaining 4 are Cortex A52 processors that have 1.2 GHz clock rate. Redmi 3, the best phone below 13000 Rs includes the same processor.
Cool1 Dual provides a juicy 4060 mAh capacity battery. Like other companies who have launched marathon battery phones, LeEco and CoolPad have enabled the Cool1 with fast charging technology.
Cool1 runs on the customized Android 6.0 OS, the EUI 5.6. EUI is a software product from LeEco. EUI comes preloaded in all handsets LeEco has introduced till date.
The phone has a thickness of 8.2 millimeters. It has curved edges and dual camera unit at the backside. The camera at the rear side has 13.0 MP sensor. It can record high-definition slow motion videos and 4K videos. It has the super fast phase detection AF module, an aperture F/2.0 lens, and dual tone LED flash module.
The mobile boasts an in-cell IPS full high-def 5.5 inches display. The screen’s brightness is 452 NITS. It has a superb resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 389+ pixels density.
The highlighting features of Cool1 Dual are its big battery and dual back cameras.
Cool1 comes with a solid front camera with excellent features. The FC offers wide-angle lens and it lets you capture FHD selfie photos/videos.
Cool1 Dual doesn’t provide storage expansion option and IR blaster module. LeEco and Coolpad have introduced 2 variants of Cool1 handset with the below memory specifications:
- 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM configuration priced at 11200 Rs.
- 64GB storage option and 4GB RAM version of Cool1 costs 15010 Rs.
Both variants of C1D are 4G-LTE, VoLTE, 3G enabled. They support nano size SIM cards and have fingerprint reader module.
Is Cool1 Dual a Redmi 3, 3s killer.
LeEco is bigger company when it comes to revenue and CoolPad is a renowned brand. Let’s see how the partnership fares out for the two tech titans. Cool1 will not affect the margins and popularity of Xiaomi’s latest mobile i.e. It may not have a big impact on Redmi 3. However, Cool1 is a great option for people searching for cheap camera phones.

LeEco’s eCommerce portals LeMall and JD like sell Cool1 Dual for 167 USDs (below 11000 Rs in Indian currency). Although the firms have not revealed whether Cool1 will retail in India or not, we expect the phone to be made available on Amazon or Flipkart soon.
