Ricoh G800 is a tough camera with 16 MP CMOS sensor

Ricoh’s latest digital G800 camera has been launched for 975 dollars (at a cost of 60000 in India). This device is built with tough materials and it packs with decent hardware. It can be used in extreme conditions.

The camera is resistant to corrosive substances, accidental drops, water and shocks, this is the major reason why G800 costs over 900 dollars. You can use it at laboratories and workshops. It can be even used six feet underwater for 2 hours.

If you want to take pictures at deptt of 10 to 18 feet then you should get an action camera. This Ricoh snapper has a CMOS 1/2.33 inch 16.0 megapixel sensor. It records 4608 x 3456 images and 1080p videos.

The camera is fitted with a flash that has an impressive range of 0.2 to 10 meters. The flash system is good. Ricoh G800 features digital, optical zoom, auto, manual focus and LiveView functions. It includes a 3.0 inch LCD.

It is loaded with an on-screen keyboard utility. This utility is useful as it allows to easily change file names. You can also use it to lock or unlock MicroSD cards or folders.

Ricoh G800 supports electronic image stabilization and center weight, multi-segment, spot light metering patterns. Users can connect 256 GB micro SD cards, HDMI and USB port equipped devices to the G800.

This device allows its users to set passwords for microSD cards. This is the most highlighting feature of Ricoh G800. The camera packs with a lithium ION D-65 battery that runs out of power after 400 shots. With 4.6 x 2.7 x 1.6 inch dimensions, Ricoh G800 weighs 0.2 kilograms and it has a 8GB storage. This digital camera under 1000 will be sold online before November 2014.
