One day after Samsung’s flagship device Galaxy S5 was unveiled at the mobile world congress event, this smartphone’s clone has been listed online for $299. The clone has been manufactured by Goophone, a Chinese brand.
As shared below, the Chinese version of Galaxy S5 houses almost similar specifications as the upcoming flagship phone from Samsung-
- Android jellybean 4.2 operating system.
- 5 inches full high definition display.
- 1920 by 1080 pixel screen resolution.
- Mali 450 MP4 graphics processing unit.
- 2 GB of main memory.
- 32GB of onboard storage memory.
- 13 megapixel back camera with LED flash.
- 5 megapixels front camera.
- MTK6592 octa-core 2000 MHz processor.
The Goophone S5 is powered by a 2880 mAh battery. This dual SIM device comes with 2 SIM card slots (with GSM – WCDMA network connectivity) and it supports data storage expansion through a MicroSD card.
This smartphone will be available for purchase in black, white, blue and gold color options. Although this clone looks very much similar to the S5, this phone lack features like fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE network as they’ve not been listed on Goophone’s website.
Price: under $300, the Galaxy S5 phone will cost in India within 17000 to 18000 Rs.
290 – 300 dollar price tag isn’t that high for a phone with 2GB RAM, FHD display. So what do you think about S5 from Goophone? Will you ever purchase this device? Kindly share your thoughts through a comment.
Update: Just like the original Galaxy S5 phone, the clone of Samsung’s flagship device has got a price cut. You can now buy this handset for 100 dollars on some Chinese online retail sites.
To be honest, the price is not very attractive as reputed Chinese phone brands like Xiaomi, Lenovo, Meizu have launched phones with much better specs for within 99 to 140 dollars. So instead of buying a clone, go for the original and better option. You can use our website’s search utility to find the perfect phone for your budget.
