For the first time, Acer will be launching its high-end Predator 15 and 17 gaming laptops in India. The new notebooks have the same design and hardware. The only difference is their screen sizes and pricing.
Acer Predator ships with DoubleShot Pro controller which combines the WiFi and RJ45 ports to one unit. Actually, they’re 2 different units. The module that handles this controller will switch between the LAN and WLAN so fast that you won’t be able to distinguish the data packets from the Ethernet card or WiFi connection unless you use a network monitoring tool like Wireshark, TCPdump, etc. You’ll discover the magic of this controller during an online gaming session.
This device has backlit technology based RGB Prozone keyboard and trackpad. Keys have been highlighted with red and green colors. If you don’t like the default color configuration, you can change it. The keyboard has programmable macro buttons. You’ll be able to configure up to 15 shortcuts as per the game’s requirements.
The blades of the cooling fan in this device have been made from aluminum instead of plastic. Hopefully, the dust particles won’t stick to it.
Predator is incorporated with a cooling system designed by Coolermaster. During long gaming sessions, you can use the FrostCore module to assist the Coolermaster cooling system for keeping the hardware’s temperature low. FrostCode is an accessory which will be available with the Predator.
Acer will launch two more accessories i.e. a gaming headphone and a programmable mouse for the Predator notebook.
This Acer gaming laptop has a specially designed PredatorSense tweaking software which will recommend you game specific settings to improve the game’s performance. With this application, you’ll be able to create gaming profiles.
For the best audio experience, Acer Predator 15 and 17 offers Dolby sound system along with dual subwoofers, and 4 speakers.
The notebook has the 6th Gen Intel Core i7 processor. It has a GTX 980M discrete NVIDIA GeForce graphics card which allows you to play latest games at various resolutions. For the best experience, the user should run games at 1080p or 2K resolution. In ultra settings and FHD, HD screen resolutions, you’ll be able to enjoy games at 40 to 50 FPS.
Acer predator includes a 17 inches screen which supports resolutions of up to 3840 x 2160 pixels. It is VR enabled device which comes with support for HTC Vive, and Occulus rift. It weighs around 4.49 KG.
As you can see in above pictures, the predator notebook has a bold design and it resembles a rugged notebook.
Both Acer Predator 17 and 15 inches notebooks include 128 GB SSD (based on PCIe technology) and a 1TB high-speed HDD. It offers a good battery backup of around 180 minutes.
The devices come with a whopping 16GB RAM. If you want, you can extend the system memory up to 64 GB.
Both 15 and 17 inches versions of this notebook will star retailing in India from April onward for a price starting at 175000 Rs. They’ll come installed with the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system.
