For the first time, Google has partnered with Lava XOLO and Nexian to launch Chromebooks in the country. Last year, Google had introduced Android one handsets after collaborating with Karbon, Micromax and Spice. The handset from Micromax was sold in large numbers whereas Karbonn and Spice failed to attract Indian users. XOLO is a reputed brand in Indian markets and Nexian is a new name.
The latest XOLO and Nexian machines will be sold through separate eCommerce sites for around 13000 Rs. They’ve same hardware configuration. Both notebooks are stuffed with a Rockchip cortex computing technology based 1800 MHz quad-core processor. They come loaded with useful apps developed/maintained by Google. Some of the applications are Google drive, hangouts, photo-editor, etc.
The Nexian and XOLO Chromebooks feature DDR3 2GB RAM and WiFi, HDMI, USB connectivity option. They include a 16GB ROM hardware. The Chrome OS will take less than 11 seconds to boot.
These low budget 200 dollar laptops have 11.6 inches display built with TFT material. The resolution is HD (1366 x 768 pixels). Thus, the UX of the OS will look clean.

Xolo and Nexian Chromebooks have a 1.0 megapixel HD webcam and 4200 mAh capacity battery. They feature T764 Mali graphics processing unit. Their weight is below 1.2 kilograms.
To expand the internal storage capacity, Google has added a MicroSD card slot to its notebooks. Google has also announced free 200GB online storage for the users. Thus, you can store 1000s of pictures (or any other files) online.
Nexian Chromebook is available for purchase on amazon with some good offers. If you buy this device, you’ll get a 64GB Strontium SD card (worth Rs 2300) free.
XOLO will list its 1st Chromebook soon via Snapdeal. It is expected to compete with Micromax laptop.
