Xiaomi has unveiled two new thin smart TVs, the 40 and 43-inch Mi TV 4A. The new televisions are priced between 1700 and 2500 Yuan and they provide a wide range of features.
Mi TV 4A is powered by a full HD panel. It weighs around 8 kilograms and supports wide-angle technology. Both variants of the television provide 2 high-speed HDMI ports. They support WiFi/Ethernet/Bluetooth connectivity and Dolby DTS audio technology.
Mi TV 4As pack a 64-bit T962 quad-core Amlogic 1502 megahertz processor and Mali-450 749 megahertz graphics processor. They carry 8GB storage hardware and 1GB RAM. The TVs ship with a USB port. Hence, you can play the audio and video files saved on the MicroSD card.
Features
MI TV 4As run on Xiaomi’s Patchwall OS. Patchwall is an AI-powered OS that supports voice commands. It scans the channel guides of DTH service providers and generates a beautiful interface through which you can find discover new movies, shows, etc.
The OS comes pre-installed with popular TV/original content apps such as Hungama, ALT Balaji, Voot, etc. If you connect Mi TV 4A to the internet, PatchWall will recommend you TV shows, movies, music videos, etc of various languages.
As Patchwall OS obeys voice command, you don’t have to use the TV’s remote control to find shows, original content, etc. The TV’s remote provides a button to enable or disable the voice mode.
Xiaomi has launched MI TV 4A Youth in China. The firm might introduce its new television soon in India. Yesterday, Xiaomi had increased the price of Mi TVs in India by a few thousand rupees. It has blamed the recent increase in the PCBA import fees for the same. Although 1800 YUAN equals 18000 INR in India, we shouldn’t expect the 40-inch or 43-inch Youth Edition Mi series televisions to cost 18000 or 24000 Rupees.
Xiaomi home appliance business has skyrocketed in the last few months. It has sold 100K units of Mi TV in India and half a million units in its home market China. According to some news sources, Xiaomi has become the 2nd largest television brand in China. If Xiaomi continues to launch affordable LED TVs in India, it might replace Samsung, Micromax, Sony and LG as the top television brand.
