Airtel, the largest telecom operator in India has launched a new music app in the form of Wynk. Even tough it was launched a few months ago, Wynk has been installed on Android handsets over 5 million times and it has an excellent rating of 4.1 on the play store. These stats are awesome.
But is Wynk music better than Hungama, Gaana or any other app? I think, yes! Here’s a small review that explains the same.
Wynk, unlike Gaana works without registration. You don’t have to create any account to listen to popular or your favorite song. Just download this app from the Google play store (its file size is just 6MB) and install it. After the installation is complete, run Wynk, select the music language and done! Wynk will load a beautiful UI that allows you to navigate to the list of Hindi, English and regional songs (Rajasthani, Tamil, Telugu, etc). This interface will also recommend top Bollywood, regional, English songs to you.
To start playing the music, tap on the album art or song file. This app comes with a music player that includes useful controls like stop, forward, rewind, shuffle, etc. You can add songs to a queue. If you want to know the directors, singers, cast, lyricist or producers of the song, tap on the i icon from the music player.
Wynk is a smart application. This app will detect your network connection automatically before it starts playing music. If you’re using GPRS or EDGE connection, Wynk app will play a lower bit rate file for uninterrupted music experience.
To download unlimited song files or to share, like your favorite songs, create a playlist, you must register a wynk account. The 1st-month subscription fee is just Rs 99.
The charges for iPhone users is slightly higher at 120 Rs. If you don’t want to signup for the monthly plan, you can download your favorite song for 10 or 5 Rupees. Wynk supports more than 20 radio stations. This number is expected to increase in the coming months.
