Imagine you’ve to attend an important online video conference with your boss and co-employees at the night. For some reasons, power supply to your place has been cut off. You don’t have any other alternative energy source (like an UPS or generator).
You have an Android or IOS device besides you and its battery is about to drain completely. In this situation not even a gadget like solar phone charger is useful.
A company named Biolite has presented its eco-friendly solution to this problem by launching its latest gadget - KettleCharge. Unlike most chargers, this device doesn’t have a power supply cord. What’s unique about this Biolite device is its ability to produce current from hot boiling water. This cool gadget is fitted with a thermoelectric generator and a 1250 mAh battery. It has a USB port which is compatible with all smartphones and tablets.
When immersed in a boiling water of atleast 750 ml volume, the TEG generates a decent 10 watts of power from heat. The current is then supplied to battery of this gadget or to the mobile/tablet (if its connected through USB). In-case the device gets extremely hot, it will play an alert sound. If not removed on time even after warning user of overheating, Biolite KettleCharge can get damaged. This device includes a LED panel at the front.
This dashboard displays water level in the container. When it comes to specifications, this portable charger measures 7.4 x 18.7 centimeters in size. It has a 905 - 906 grams weight.
The battery of Biolite Kettle can get charged completely within 15 - 16 minutes. It is built with high temperature resistant material and stainless steel. This gadget from Biolite is priced within 145 - 150$. It will hit markets by September this year. KettleCharge works with all types of stoves and USB devices.
