If you’re an FB user, you might be a member of a group where you exchange messages or pictures with unknown people. To make communication in your favorite online community easier, Facebook has launched a new app named groups for its existing and new users.
This new software from the social networking giant allows you to create and join Facebook communities of various categories. Thus, it has now become much easier for people to engage themselves in various online activities.
Just like many other similar apps, groups has a utility to upload and share pictures with active members. It allows you to invite people via their email addresses.
The app is integrated with Facebook, and it gives users easy access to 1000’s of groups. If the community doesn’t have any admins, your application to join it will be approved automatically else you’ll have to wait for someone to accept the joining request.
This app lets you create a home-screen shortcut to any group of your choice. You can do this by tapping on the gear icon located at the top-right corner of the app. In my perspective, this is a useless feature. A User will be alerted of any new messages, thread or activity through a push notification alert.
Download Facebook Groups app for Android or IOS/iPhone (File size: around 19 MB).
If you don’t want to be notified of any new community activity, then you can turn push notifications off (and in-app sounds) through the app’s setting.
Whatsapp comes with similar features and it is much easier to use. Groups in this app are not flooded with 1000s of people. If you want to connect with people who you don’t know, then you should start using Facebook groups else use WhatsApp.
Hey!
FB groups app is not good. I like the website more than the app
