Dell had first introduced its Precision series mobile workstation M3800 in the year 2013. Today, Dell has unveiled 3 new successors to this notebook, each priced within 1600 and 2500 dollars (below 1.5 lakh in India). These new notebook offer faster network connectivity and a better display than its predecessor.
The latest edition of Precision M3800 has been designed keeping the interests of software developers and graphic professionals on the highest priority. Unlike its earlier version, M3800 comes with a 4k resolution (3840 x 2160 pixel) set 15.6 inch capacitive IPS touchscreen display and it’s screen supports 10 fingers multitouch. This workstation can be used to edit image or videos of 2840 x 2160 pixel resolution. Editing videos of such high resolutions requires a lot of RAM. Thus Dell has designed M3800 to support 16GB of RAM. Working with graphics on laptops can drain battery completely within an hour. But this is not the case with the Dell Precision M3800 as it features a 92 watts per hour battery. This notebook comes installed with a high-speed thunderbolt 2 module. This notebook is suitable for professional use as it send/receive network data at an impressive speed of 19+ gbps per second.
The M3800 mobile workstation runs Windows 7 professional 64 bit operating system. It comes with Nvidia K series GPU and 2.3 GHz 4712HQ Core i7 Intel processor (clock rate of 3.3 GHz in turbo boost mode). The CPU houses 6MB of cache memory. This Dell notebook has a 2GB volume of DDR5 video memory and it includes Intel 4600 graphics chipset. It has 1.8 kilograms weight. M3800 has a decent thickness of 17.99 millimeters.
