Micromax is not only busy with its Yureka sales on Amazon, it is focusing on low price segment phone markets too. Its latest 3G handsets for the Indian markets are Canvas Pep and Bolt A82.
Out of these 2 devices, Micromax Bolt A82 is a smartphone with a large display. It has a FWVGA (screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels) 5.0 inch IPS LCD that supports multi-touch technology. This handset has a solid Mali MP1 400 series GPU which is backed by just 512 MB RAM, 4GB storage and dual core Mediatek MT6572 processor. It supports more than 15 local Indian languages just like the Unite 2 phone. Bolt A82 has 5 megapixel camera with LED flash at the back. Its front side is fitted with VGA low resolution camera. It comes with 1800 mAh capacity battery. This 3G Micromax phone is available for under 5500 Rs on Homeshop18.
Canvas Pep seems to be a re-branded Micromax Android One. It has quad-core microprocessor, 4.50 inch IPS display with the same FWVGA resolution. Pep comes with Kit Kat 4.4 operating system, 1GB RAM, 1.3 MP front and a 5.0 megapixel back camera. The battery capacity of this handset is 1700 mAh. This quad-core device has been launched in blue and white color options for 5999 Rs. Arya A1 plus is retailing for just 4999 Rs and it has better features than Canvas Pep. If you want to buy a Micromax phone at a budget of 6000 Rs, go for Micromax A1.
Anyways, both these latest devices from Micromax are dual SIM handsets with FM Radio, GPS, Bluetooth, headphone jack and microSD card slot.
There’s no word on availability of Android 5.0 update for Bolt A82 and Pep. But you can expect it as Micromax has dispatched a lollipop update for the Express A99 handset. It might release similar update for its best selling phones that include Unite 2, Canvas Nitro, Colors, Doodle 3,…etc.
