If you are planning to buy a cheap HP laptop under 200 dollars then there’s a good news for you. The computer manufacturer Hewlett-Packard will soon launch its budget Chromebook alternative -Stream 14 for a price around 199 (within 12000 to 13000 Rs in India).
This beast is using the computing power of the quad-core AMD A4 processor. It runs Microsoft’s v8.1 operating system. This laptop packs with a decent Radeon R3 GPU. For good multitasking experience, Stream 14 comes with a 2GB RAM. The physical memory is upgradeable up to 8GB. The display specs of this notebook is impressive. It boasts a BrightView technology equipped 14 inch screen.
Screen resolution is preset to 1366 x 768 pixels. For connectivity with tablets and other mobiles, this device includes Bluetooth and USB port. It has a HDMI and an Ethernet port too. To make it complete, the company has added a HD web-camera and 4 speakers to the stream. Well, HP is not the only company to have unveiled its Google Chromebook competitor.
Acer has launched its ES1-111 Aspire series laptop under 300$ (around 18000 Rs). This notebook features a 11.6 inch display with the same resolution as the device from HP. Packed with an Intel dual core Celeron N2840 processor, this device is with a HDD of 32GB storage space. It has decent upgradeable system memory of 2GB.
Aspire ES1-111 from Acer features a battery rated at 2640 mAh. It has an Intel GPU, Windows 8.1 OS and a HDMI port. It also includes a version 4.0 Bluetooth, RJ45 LAN and USB ports. ES-111 has already hit the German markets. Its availability for other countries (including India) has not been specified by Acer yet.
Both the above laptops have decent specifications. They’re not priced too high, hence HP Stream 14 and Acer Aspire ES-111 are ideal for students.
