Computing division of Toshiba has today launched its latest portable hard drive Canvio ALU for a starting price under 50 dollar (under Rs 3000 in India). This 2.5 inch device can be owned in 2 color options silver and black.
It comes in 500 GB, 1TB and 2 terabyte storage variants. ALU from Toshiba can connect with computers and laptops with a USB 2.0 port. It supports high-speed data transfers between storage and computing devices. The electronic circuit in this device is packed within a strong case made from aluminum.
Thus your file data is secure even when Canvio has been dropped accidentally. Toshiba has used the latest ramp loading and shock absorbing technology for extra safety of this device. This portable hard disk drive under 50 is loaded with NTI Backup now ez software. This application will allow you to create, schedule and restore backups easily.
Now ez compresses and encrypts the file it generates. It requires 100 MB installation space. This software can run on Windows XP and higher operating systems. It can backup your entire file system. Toshiba Canvio ALU is 18 millimeters thick and 114 mm long. This hard drive has a weight around 239 grams. It supports HFS plus and NTFS file systems.
It requires just 0.93 volts of USB power to operate. It has data transfer rates up-to 5.0 gbps. This Toshiba drive has been first launched in the European markets. It is expected to hit other countries by October 2014.
