Last laptop in HP’s Elitebook series (820 G1) was launched last year. Today, HP’s Malaysian site has published the key features of - Elitebook 820 G2 - a successor to 820 G1. This upcoming notebook has been stuffed with some newest computing technologies.
As per HP’s listing, this new beast will be powered with the newest generation (5th Gen) of Intel core series processor. It will also include Intel HD 5500 -the most powerful on-board graphics chip. This laptop comes with touchscreen 12.5 inch LED backlit anti-glare display. It has 12.2 x 8.46 x 0.82 inch dimensions and 1.5 kg weight. Just like high end phones, the screen of this laptop uses Corning Gorilla glass technology. Thus it offers splash and dust protection.
HP Elitebook 820 G2 will be made available with HD and 1080p display options. It will have decent memory specifications. The highest configuration of HP 820 G2 is expected to come with 1600 MHz 16GB RAM. It will also include 2 x SODIMM slots. The laptop will feature 120/256 GB SSD and 320GB/1TB capacity hard disk drive. It has USB 3.o, VGA, HDMi and RJ-45 LAN ports. It also includes a docking connector, 720p web-cam, glass touchpad, backlit keyboard, INtel NIC module, NFC and stereo speakers. HP has fitted 3 cell battery, trusted platform modules and smart card reader in Elitebook G2.
Talking about software, this upcoming HP notebook will come installed with Microsoft 8.1 Windows OS. It will feature HP BIOSphere, Driveguard, Recovery manager applications.
HP has not revealed the launch date of Elitebook 820 G2. It looks like the company is waiting for the official launch of Intel 5th gen CPU’s. Anyways, this laptop is expected to cost within 1000 to 1500$ dollars (below 92K in India). As always, your thoughts on hp 820 g2 are welcomed.
