Today, specifications of 2 upcoming Android phones Xiaomi Redmi 2s and Samsung Galaxy J1 were spotted online. 2s and J1 will have 1GB of RAM and a quad-core processor. When launched, both the phones will compete with each other and they’re expected to be priced below 150$.
Here are the leaked specifications of Xiaomi Redmi 2s and Samsung Galaxy J1
Display: 2s will feature the same 4.7 inch HD display as its predecessor. The screen will use Dragon Tail and IPS technologies. On other hand, Samsung J1 will carry a WVGA (480 x 800 pixel resolution) 4.3 inch IPS touchscreen display.
Processor: Xiaomi’s upcoming phone will be equipped with Snapdragon 64 bit 410 quad-core processor. Just like 1s, this upcoming Xiaomi phone will feature Adreno series GPU (v306). Samsung’s device will come with a 1.2 GHz Marcell quad-core CPU. The GPU will be from PowerVR or Mali MP series.
OS, Memory and Battery: Redmi 2s will pack with 8.0 MP back camera, 2200 mAh battery, 8GB storage. Galaxy J1 will be installed with 4GB of ROM, 5.0 megapixel rear camera and a 2000 mAh battery. Talking about OS, Redmi 2s will run on Android Kit Kat OS. 2s will ship with MIUI 6 UI. J1 is expected to be loaded with Samsung TouchWiz UI. Both the handsets will feature a 2.0 MP front camera.
Network support: J1 and 2S will allow users to browse internet through LTE network connections.
Performance of Redmi 2s was evaluated by Antutu app and the test results were published on Antutu’s official website. J1 was tested by GFXBech folks. Xiaomi 2s and Galaxy J1 have been codenamed as HM2014811 and SM-J100F respectively. Galaxy J1 will be the 2nd phone in Samsung’s J series. 2s will be Xiaomi’s 3rd Mi series phone. Samsung is constantly losing its market share to Xiaomi in Asian countries. It would be interesting to see Samsung’s strategy in the coming days. On other hand, Xiaomi has faced a temporary ban in India. The firm is allowed to sell only its Snapdragon chip phones.
