Philips Xenium X2566 budget phone for elderly people launched

Xenium X2566 phone from Philips has been designed for elderly people. It features extra-large buttons and over-sized fonts. Thus making it easier for the senior citizen to read, dial numbers or save contacts. The handset is fitted with a VGA camera.

It supports zoom feature, hence you can use X2566 as a magnifying glass to go through small-sized texts in magazines, newspapers or documents. Xenium includes a SOS button. When this button is pressed, a call will be placed to 3 contacts. In-case no none answers the call, phone will redial the number.

This feature can be handy at the time of a medical emergency. Philips Xenium X2566 comes with an amplifier that emits much louder sound than other budget phones in the same price range. It packs with an antenna. Thus users don’t have to wear any types of headphones to enjoy FM Radio.

In X2566, you can turn on the flashlight, unlock the phone or access your favorite utility/app on a single click of button. Philips promises 720 hours of standby-time and 1200 minutes of talk time with this handset. Xenium features a 2.4 inch TFT display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution. It comes with a micro-SD and 2 SIM card slots.

It includes several call filters (including blacklisting and recording). It has a 1630 mAh battery. It can be purchased online through Philips website and offline through local retailers at a price within Rs 3800 to 5000.
