Philips has taken the wraps off its newest black colored flagship phone i866 Aurora in China. This handset comes with high-end specifications and it will compete with BlackBerry Passport and Google Nexus 6. I966 features a quad high-definition IPS touschreen display. It comes with corning gorilla glass layer to keep the screen protected from dust.
This phone is fitted with a Sony IMX220 20.7 MP Exmor RS sensor. The rear snapper is paired with a LED flash. It includes f1.8 aperture lens and a front facing 8.0 MP camera. Philips Aurora is enabled with multitasking as it packs with a quad-core Snapdragon 801 chip of 2250 MHz clock speed. Talking about the preloaded softwares, this device uses YunOS version 3.0 OS. This operating system is derived from Android and it sails on Adreno multi core GPU.
The phone also features some popular apps from the Google play store. It includes a mammoth 32GB of storage space. It is equipped with a 3GB RAM and GPS system. Philips Aurora i966 is 8.2 mm thin handset. It features NFC, Bluetooth, 4G-LTE and WiFi. It is enabled with Qualcomm quick charge function. Just like other premium phones, I966 comes with a finger-print scanner. When it comes to availability and pricing, Philips i966 is available only in China for 3699 yuan (below 40000 in India). It is expected to hit other major markets of Philips in the coming days.
