Amazon is trying to improve its eCommerce business in India and to push its popularity and sales further, it has launched a new service in the form of Kirana Now, with which you’ll be able to buy cooking, food items online from the comfort of your home.
As of now, KiranaNow portal is accessible only to mobile users. Orders can be placed only by the residents of Bangalore from 9 AM till 6 PM. In the coming months, KiranaNow service is expected to be available in major cities like Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad. Anyways, Amazon is offering free delivery on bills of 499+ Rupees. The free delivery is a good feature as you don’t have to visit a mall, reliance fresh or any other store to buy cooking items. Amazon has also promised that the order placed on cooking items will be completed within 120 to 480 minutes. Many similar sites in India take more than 24 hours for the same. Before purchasing a food item, you can go through its ingredients, reviews, features and benefits. I was not able to view the price tags of the listed items. Thus i cannot comment about the pricing. If grocery items listed on Amazon Kirana Now are sold for a low price tag, this new portal will be get immense popularity in the country.
If you are an owner of a kirana store, you should create your seller account on Amazon as its a good opportunity to increase your sales. You don’t have to hire any employee to complete the order. Amazon will handle all deliveries. KiranaNow will be competing with online grocery stores like BigBasket, aaramshop, localbanya,…etc. For those who are now aware, the eCommerce giant has a vast experience as an online grocery seller. It owns AmazonFresh, a online market place for grocery stores in the US.
