After launching V-Nitro and Aspire ES1-111 budget laptops, Acer has introduced its new set of Chromebooks. Labeled as CXI, this new portfolio features Google Chrome OS powered compact desktop. This device is installed with a SSD of 16 GB capacity. The operating system resides on this drive, hence the Chromebook takes just 7-8 seconds to boot. The desktop is just 3.3 centimeters thick. It has a height around 6.3 inches. It has an Intel Haswell dual core Celeron processor. Thus users can run any types of software on CXI. This Chromebook under 200 dollars comes with HD graphics Intel chipset. It features a SD reader which is compatible with cards of 32 GB storage capacity.
The Chromebox packs with a display and HDMI port, hence it supports 2 monitor simultaneously. It includes a mic and headphone compatible 3.5 mm stereo socket jack. CX1 supports local network connectivity via WiFi, Bluetooth. For connecting with other computers, this device is incorporated with RJ45 LAN port. It gets 4 USB ports. Thus users can connect their smartphones and tablets with CXI through a USB cable. The chromebox has a sophisticated virus protection system built-in. It supports the powerwash feature. This Acer desktop is loaded with 1000′s of apps. It gives the users direct access to all Google services. When it comes to price, CXI is highly affordable. It’s 2GB RAM model can be purchased for a price around 180 dollars (within 10000 to 11000 Rupees in India). 4 GB version carries a 239$ price tag (around Rs 14000 - 15000). This desktop will hit markets in Canada and United states by the end of September 2014.
