You may have heard of Android but u may not be aware of what Android actually is, isn’t it? So let us first know what Android Actually is..
What is Android?
Android is an Operating System based on Linux (Linux is based on Unix Operating System) that was developed by Android inc ( which has been acquired y Google )and currently maintained and upgraded by Google .
Now let’s come to the point, would you like to operate a dos based mobile O.S or you would like to put your fingers on GUI based O.S?

There are many of reasons why Android is the most favored O.S amongst people today..Let’s look a few of them
1:- Multiple home screens are well supported by the Android O.S whereas most of the Mobile O.S lacks this feature. (No doubt that supporting multiple home screens would require better Hardware)
2:- On screen keyboard is one the most talked about feature in any of the Mobile phone, you can choose and install any of the top virtual keyboard on your Android Phones from androids market place
3:- Availability of huge number of constantly updated applications makes android the preferred choice.
4:- Firmware updates can be easily done with on an Android powered phone whereas most of the mobile phone having non Android OS won’t be able to do it .
The main reason why most of the mobile manufacturing companies favor Android is probably the availability of huge number of Applications which are updated and added in the Android Market place every day . If your phone can be easily updated with an application (that is reviewed by Google before being added to the Google Market Place )at just a click of a button .. Why would you go to a search engine to find the application that meets your requirement? There is no Smartphone user that would have never tried installing an application on his mobile phone… Smartphone users are constantly finding applications on the internet that would make their Smartphone even smarter. Considering the above point most of the Mobile Manufacturers must be opting for Android rather than other popular Operating Systems.
