If you remember, Oppo had launched its R1 R829T smartphone in December last year. This device has performed poorly in the markets, thanks to its 400+ dollar price tag and ordinary specs. Now, the Chinese phone maker has come out with R1L - the upgraded version of R1. This new device has been launched in Malaysia for around 360$ (21000 Rs in India). Oppo has decided to use the Adreno 305 GPU and Qualcomm 1600 MHz Snapdragon 400 CPU in R1L instead of Mediatek MTK6582 processor that powered the R1.
The successor has 1GB RAM. It packs with the same 720p 5.0 inch display, 16GB on-board storage and 2410 mAh battery as its earlier version. R1L runs ColorOS v1.2 (modified Android 4.3 Jelly Bean). The phone boasts a 13.0 MP rear camera with F2.0 lens and an impressive front facing 5.0 MP snapper. Oppo R1L is compatible to work with 4G networks. It is enabled with WiFi, DLNA and Bluetooth. The latest Oppo smartphone weighs 136 grams. It is 7.1 mm thin handset with 70.4 mm width and 5.6 inch height.
R1L has good specs but it’s still overpriced. Xiaomi Mi3 packs with better hardware and it can purchased at a much cheaper price. Mi3 is loaded with KitKat based OS. It has Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB RAM, 1080p display, f2.2 lens and 2 LED flash lights.
