Indian Startup that launched Docspad application has been acquired by Yahoo

Docspad is an online HTML 5 application. It allows app developers to annotate or edit the project related documents without opening PDF or any other editors. It was launched 1.8 years ago by a technology start-up named Bookpad. This utility can be used to edit documents of any file format (including ODT and ODX). Docspad is based on a responsive design. Thus it can run in all types of web-browsers that support HTML 5. If you want to add functionality of Docspad to your own application, you can do this via its API.

This tool is powerful and unique. If you’ve used Google docs then you wont find it difficult to use docspad.

This online utility has helped Bookpad to be counted among Nasscoms top 10000 startups. Its core development team has now been acquired by internet giant Yahoo for around 9 million dollars (within 50 to 56 crore Rupees). Well, this is the company’s 14th acquisition of the year 2014. In September, Yahoo had bought the online in-image advertising platform Luminate. It has also purchased the popular app analytics platform flurry. After Little Eye Labs and Impermium, Bookpad has now become the 3rd Indian tech startup to have been acquired by a top internet company.
