Business Websites | Business Portals: What should it contain?

For promoting your business online, you’ll need to ensure the presence of your business on the internet as well as social media platforms .Although many online services allows you to create a business page , you should make sure that you’ve setup your business website/portal for your genuine existence on the internet. The content of the website/portal and its design should always be at the highest priority while designing as you don’t want to disappoint your website/portal’s visitors which includes the search engines too . For your website/portal to be found in the search results of the search engines, you should seek advice from SEO experts (If you’re not one) or understand SEO and apply it on your business website/portal and while designing your business portal/website , make sure that you include the below pages/elements :-

• Google Map showing the location of your business:-Adding a map showing “the exact location” of your business is not a rocket science and can be easily done with just two-three clicks of a mouse. All you need to do is

 

1. Open the Google Maps Portal
2. Select the location of your business on the map.
3. Click on the Link button.
4. Copy the code from the textarea and place it in the location of your choice in the contact us page …Done!

 

• Description of your business: - This is very important. Your description should be short and it should contain important information like

1. When your business was founded?
2. Who’s the founder?
3. Professional and Educational Background of the founder/founders.
4. Two-Three lines on your business.
5. Two-Three prestigious clients of yours.
6. .Make sure that your home-page have this short description and dedicate a separate page for a detailed description of your business.

 

• Services you offer:- As a business , you offer many different services ..Dedicate a separate page on your website/portal to these Services and make sure that you list all of your services with details like how you work? , How much time does it takes for you to accomplish the service…etc .

• Products:-Dedicate a separate page on your website/portal for this section … This section should always have detailed information on the products …If possible ask your clients to post a review of the product and include this along with the short description. As this page is extremely important, make sure that navigation between the products is easy.

 

• Bookmarks to your social network:-This is one of the most important elements that every business website/portal should have. Social Networking website/portals offer great facilities to its users free of cost .Make sure that you have an account on atheist three-four social networking website/portals and bookmark it on your homepage of your business website/portal. You can even use online tools (Social Bookmarking utilities) like addthis to generate the code for Bookmarks to the Social Network …this would save your time .In the below screenshot , you can see the bookmarks enclosed in a red circle .

 

• Inquiry Form: - This is a simple form with 4 HTML elements Two TextFields (Name,Email Addres) , a TextArea (Details),A Submit button placed in the form . On the click of the submit button, the data from the textfield’s and the TextArea would be passed as parameters to a server side script which would then use the inputted information to send an email to your help-desk email-id/Business Email-ID .The visitor to your business portal may use this form for various reasons like requesting a quotation, query on a product …etc, hence do include this form in your business portal/website.

 

• Clients list:- Before doing a business with you , visitors to your business website/portal would be interested in seeing the list of your existing clients … Make sure that you include your top clients at the start of your clients list and dedicate a separate page to it .
