Nokia Corporation has unveiled 2 brand new cheap phones-the 106 and 107. These two devices are scheduled to be launched in the coming months and are expected to see huge sales. As we all know, Nokia is back on the track with the success of its Lumia Series and with these 2 devices being scheduled to launch, the company would be hoping to recapture the budget phone markets that it has lost in emerging markets. Anyways, 106 & 107 from Nokia would support features like 2G, FM Radio and would lack cameras, 3G functionality. Well, this is understandable as both these cheap mobiles are priced below 2000 Rupees. Technical profiles of 106 and 107 are shared below:
Nokia 106 specifications: This device has a 384 Kilobyte (KB) main memory (RAM) and it sports a 1.8” LCD Display (with pixels per inch around 114). This mobile runs the native operating system of Nokia - series 30 Operating System and it is backed up by a 800 mAh battery. The phone gives a talk time up-to 10 hours and a total standby time of 35 days. 106 from Nokia weighs around 74 grams and it measures 112.9 by 47.5 by 14.4 mm in dimensions. It supports 2G functionality and comes with a 3.5 mm Audio Jack. Apart from these features, the 106 has some useful apps and utilities installed for you. This device lacks front and the rear camera, 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi.

Nokia 107 specifications: The is a DUAL SIM device from Nokia that runs the same operating system as the Nokia 106. It comes with a main memory of 4 Megabytes (which is higher than the Nokia 106) and it is equipped with a 1020 mAh battery. This device gives a total standby time around 23-24 days and a talk time around 12.8 hours. The display of Nokia 107 is almost the same as the 106 and it weighs around 75.9 Grams. While 106 lacks support for MicroSD card, Nokia 107′s internal storage can be expanded by a MicroSD card of 16GB. It comes with 2G functionality, FM Radio, 3.5 mm Audio Jack, MP3, MIDI playback, measures 112.9 by 47.5 by 14.9 mm in dimension and lacks features like 3G, WiFi, Cameras.

Nice phones indeed, though we just got one for my children which might have a little more features than these, at a lower cost. But as they say that Nokia is a brand, and that really does matter, though for kids I think anything will do.
