These changes have been loved and accepted by the public and attracted many more people to use this service and hence, Gmail have become of the most widely used email service in the world. Google have added many new features to Gmail for enriching the User Experience and making user’s task easier. If you’re a power Gmail user you might be well aware of these features and if you’re not then you’re at the right place because through this post I’ll be sharing the Gmail tips that will not only make your Gmail experience better but also improve productivity. Gmail Tips for improving productivity:-
- Setting Filters for your incoming mails: - If you want some of your incoming mails to be added a label, forwarder to an alternate
email address, to be deleted or to be starred automatically then simply go to settings (By Clicking on the Wheel Icon located at the top Right Corner) -> Filters-> Create A Filter->Fill up the Text-boxes From address , To Address)->Click Next and select the check-box(filter) ->Click on the Save Button …Done !
- Organizing your emails with Multiple Inboxes:- You can enable multiple inboxes by Going to Settings (By Clicking on the Wheel Icon located at the top Right Corner) ->Labs->Enable Multiple Inboxes->Clicking on the save button…Done !.With this feature of Gmail, you can organize your emails, customize your multiple inboxes (By selecting the Multiple Inboxes Tab) and even fetch emails from other email accounts. (You should be using the Standard Gmail version to enable this feature).
- Using Google Drive to Send Large Files:- With Google Drive (Google’s Cloud Storage Platform) you can send files having length up to 10 GB and to do this ->Click on the Google Drive Image Icon->Select a file/files (having length/combined length up to or equal to 10 GB) which you want to send (If the recipient won’t have an access to the file , you’ll be alerted to change these settings so that the recipient would have an access to the file/files)…Done!
- Adding Calendar Events from Gmail:-Yes this is true, Gmail allows you to add Calendar events by simply Selecting the add to Calendar Option->Selecting the date and time to get the record of the event .You’ll simply love this feature if you use Gmail to organize or schedule an event.
- Adding your own Images as Background:- Go to themes by Clicking on the Wheel Icon located at the top Right Corner->Now Select Custom Themes->Go to Upload pictures from My Photos (Added to your Google Plus Account)->Select the photo you that you want to be displayed as your background image …Done !
- Making other’s to manage your inbox: - Gmail’s email delegation feature allows you to make other people access and manage your inbox and for that to happen, you’ll need to grant that person an appropriate permission (you don’t have to share your password with anyone). Isn’t this awesome?
- Using Advanced Search:-When you inbox is flooded with 1000’s of emails , it can be difficult to find out an email that you want to access .Hence to make this task easier , you can use the advanced search option in Gmail and apply filters generate a query that would find out the email you’re looking for on the click of the search mail button .
