USSD codes are easy to use, but they’re tough to remember, especially if you have a mobile device with 2 SIM card slots. Many people use them to get service related information from the telecom operators. The information may include 3G settings, data balance, net offer, SMS or roaming packs, 2G mobile internet plans, etc.
Indian telecom operators like Airtel, Tata Docomo, Reliance, Idea, Aircel, Vodafone, and BSNL allow users to dial more than 5 USSD codes on their Android, Windows, IOS handsets. Some top operators offer more than 30 codes.
When a customer dials the number, required information is sent to him via a text message or an alert. If you don’t know your cell phone number, dial *1#. Users must configure APN or access point names to use internet services like 2G or 3G. Customers can get APN settings through the USSD service. They can even change it manually.

Codes for BSNL
Many of you might be using BSNL for its cheap mobile internet (3G, GPRS), call and SMS rates. If yes, then you can try out the below codes to enable or disable a service.
For Idea Cellular
The idea is one of the top Airtel competitors. Idea Cellular’s SMS, 3G, call, GPRS rates are decent.
List for TATA Docomo
If you have a Docomo SIM card, then below list of USSD codes will let you subscribe to various GPRS, 3G internet plans. You can also use them to get updates from instant messengers and mail alerts from popular web services like Gmail, Rediff mail, etc. The below table also features a list of access point names (APN) for customers willing to use 2G or 3G internet service on their Docomo phones.
To get USSD codes for Reliance communications, please dial *111# for prepaid and *222# for postpaid USSD services. When you dial one of the two numbers (depending upon the type of connection you’ve activated), you’ll see a menu with the following options:
- Call balance.
- Recharge details.
- Internet balance.
- VAS services.
- PUK details.
- Information on GPRS, MMS, and offers.
- Missed call alerts and caller tunes, etc.
