Moto G6 is Motorola’s new mid-range mobile device. Lenovo has introduced two variants of Moto G6 in India. The cheapest variant, the Moto G6 Play costs Rs 11999. It features 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. The costlier version i.e. Moto G6 includes 64GB storage hardware and 4GB RAM.

Note 5 Pro is the best Redmi series handset to date. Its price starts at INR 14999. Its base variant is powered by 4GB RAM and 64GB storage memory.

Which handset is better among G6 Play and Redmi Note 5 Pro? Should you buy the Motorola G6P or Xiaomi RN5P? Go through the below paragraphs where we have compared the features of the two new mobile devices.

Computing hardware and display

Note 5 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 636 processor. G6P packs Snapdragon 430 processor. Both processors have eight processing cores but their architecture is different. Benchmark scores prove that SD 636 is better than SD 430.

N5P has a 5.99 inch In-Cell IPS display with 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It ships with Adreno 509 GPU. G6P provides a Corning Gorilla Glass protected HD+ 5.7-inch display. It packs Adreno 505 GPU. Crisp screen resolution and powerful graphics processor makes Xiaomi Note 5 Pro a great device for watching videos and playing games.

Battery

Both smartphones offer a 4000 mAh capacity battery. They support fast charging mode. G6P supports 15W chargers.

Camera

The camera has become the most important component of a smartphone. Xiaomi provides Sony IMX series sensor equipped front and rear cameras with the Redmi Note 5 Pro handset. Its device boasts a 12MP/5MP back and 20MP front-facing camera. Motorola’s handset includes a single 13MP rear and a front 8MP camera. Both handsets offer a front flash. They have a large aperture lens. Xiaomi provides a F/2.2 aperture for its back/front camera. G6 Play’s rear camera unit features a F/2.0 aperture.

Aesthetics

Motorola’s latest smartphone device is bulky. Its thickness is 8.9 millimeters and weight is 174.9 grams. Despite carrying the same capacity battery as G6P, RN5P is 8.09 millimeters thin. It is 5 grams heavier than G6 Play.

The Motorola smartphone has a dedicated home button. It has two dedicated SIM slots and a MicroSD slot. Xiaomi provides software-based navigation system. Xiaomi has incorporated it with a hybrid SIM tray. Hence, you can use either two sim cards or a SIM card and MicroSD at a given time. G6P’s chassis is built with plastic. RN5P flaunts metallic chassis. Both handsets carry a fingerprint sensor. The sensor is located below the rear camera of the two devices.

OS

Xiaomi is slow in rolling out major Android updates. This is because the company has installed its MIUI ROM on most of its devices. When Google introduces a major update for the Android OS, Xiaomi must tweak its MIUI to support the latest edition of the Android OS.

Moto G6 Play, on another hand, employs the pure Android OS. Hence, you won’t find a lot of bloatware (unnecessary apps/features) on G6 Play.

Although the Redmi series mobile runs on MIUI OS, Android Oreo OS based Lineage OS is available for the RN5 Pro. The Lineage OS is as good as the stock Android operating system. In case you don’t like MIUI, you can flash Lineage OS and enjoy the latest Android OS.

Reasons to buy Redmi Note 5 Pro

G6 Play has an entry-level processor (400 series) and its screen resolution isn’t FHD. This is its only drawback. RN5 Pro beats G6P in the hardware department but it has a custom ROM. It has a faster processor, GPU, and FHD+ display. It also includes a Sony sensor equipped front/rear cameras and an IR blaster.

Best alternative to Redmi Note 5 Pro and Moto G6

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is the best phone under 15000 Rs right now. It runs on Stock Android OS and has excellent features.
