Reliance JIO group’s devices, services, and apps have been in the news for a long time. After launching plenty of Lyf, Wind phones, the latest product that Mukesh Ambani’s new firm has introduced is the JioFi hotspot, which offers free 4G data for 90 days.
The new device offers wireless internet connectivity to maximum 10 mobile devices at a time. It has a USB port, with which you can connect JioFi to PC or laptop for surfing the internet at great speed.
JioFi device supports the JioJoin app. The application lets you enjoy voice and video calling at an high-definition resolution for free. It is like the recently launched Google Duo app, Facetime alternative for Android.
JF is a small device which you carry it anywhere you go. The good thing about JioFi is that it ships with a 2300 mAh battery. Charge the device once to use it for up to 6 nonstop hours (360 minutes).
JioFi battery packs SD card and SIM card reader. Insert an SD card to save downloaded files in it. You must insert the JIO SIM which you will get with the hotspot in the SIM slot.
How to buy JioFi hotspot and activate free 4G data?
Visit the nearest store of Reliance industries with Rs 2899, passport size photograph and proof of address, identity (Ex Aadhar card, PAN/Voting card). Ask any salesman in the store to guide you to the RJIO counter. You may have to wait in a queue because JioFi is currently in a huge demand.
Once you get the hotspot device, dial 18008901977 from the mobile number which you had entered in the customer application form. You must do so to activate internet services. Now, install the JioJoin app and call the number 1977 to enable video and voice calling features.
Should you ditch your ISP?
If your internet plan (pack) will expire soon and you are paying 800 to 2000 Rs per month to enjoy the unlimited internet, then buying the JioFi hotspot is a good decision. JioFi comes bundled with RJIO preview offer that allows a user to enjoy unlimited 4G-LTE, VoLTE for 90 days.
If you are paying below 799 Rupees for a broadband connection, don’t discard the connection because the tariffs after the preview offer ends are unknown. RJIO has not commenced its commercial operations yet. JioFi is an excellent alternative to internet dongles and Airtel 4G. Will you buy it?
