Travelling by air is fastest and most costliest way of travelling. While booking a ticket for a flight, you’re allowed to choose between economy, 1st and business class tickets. Economy class is cheap but to enjoy more facilities and luxury, wealthy people will opt for business or the 1st class.
There are many airlines in the world, and most of them compete. These companies offer discounts and attractive offers only on special days. Thus, Holidays and festive seasons are probably the cheapest days to fly.
During regular working days, you’ll have to do a small research to find cheap flight tickets. Your research will be more precise and much better with the below price prediction tools.
Best Flight Price Prediction tools for 2016
Kayak: In my perspective, Kayak is the best airfare price predictor. To begin using this tool, open kayak.com in the web browser of your phone or PC. Now click on the flights menu from the navigation bar.
If you do this, Kayak will display one-way, round-trip or multi-city travelling options. Select a mode and enter the source, destination city along with travelling/return date and select your cabin preferences.
Most airline companies allow six passengers from a family. Thus, don’t be surprised if you’re any able to pick more than six travelers in the kayak. When you enter a source/destination location, Kayak will display the nearest airport. Hence, it helps you in saving money while travelling.
Kayak allows you to compare pricing with big agencies like Expedia, eDreams, OneTravel, etc. You can set price alerts with this flight forecasting and prediction tool. Kayak has many powerful filters. It is easy and free to use service.
Hotwire: When you open this site, it will present your options to select a package i.e. flight, cars, and hotel. When you’ve selected a package, entered the required data and click on the find button. This will make Hotwire to open a new window on your browser. This window includes the lowest airfare prices for details you had entered data.
Hotwire makes you aware of some vital information that includes the flight number, airplane in which you’ll be travelling, baggage fees, etc. It will scan your browsing history and recommend the cheapest fare for the source/destination you’ve searched earlier on other flight price tracker or predictor websites.
You can use Hotwire to find airlines that will refund your money in case you’ve cancelled your plans to travel another city.

Momondo: This is yet another airline price predictor that be used without registering an account. Momondo has a massive database of international flight fares. It has separate websites for each country.
The interface of this site offers similar features as Kayak, but its graphics are different. When I searched for available flights between Surat to Mumbai, Momondo tool took a while to perform a DB search operation. After half a minute, it displayed no flights found message.
This airfare predictor tool shows day wise flight data along with their estimated prices. It allows you to set email alerts of flight fares. In the footer section of momondo, you’ll find quick links for flights to important cities in your region. In my perspective, Momono is one of the best flight price predictor and tracker website for 2015.
Hopper: This is free to download app that is available only for the people located in the USA and Canada. Hopper can be found on IOS/Itunes store. Thus, you must be an owner of iPhone or iPad to use this app.
The service is powered by a well-designed engine that analyzes 1000s off flight data daily. It uses an exemplary prediction algorithm that recommends you the best time to book a ticket. Hopper can save 40% of your money while travelling via an airline. It has an excellent 4.6 rating on the Itunes store.

GetfLYR.com: This site has filters to select non-stop flights, airlines, and timings. The getflyr tool is fast. Instead of opening a new page, it displays flight prices on the home page.
Just like the above two websites, GetFlyr can alert you whenever there’s change in price trends via email. It allows you to book flights too. GetFlyr has a fare lockin feature with which, users can get best flight deal by entering their credit card and email address. With this feature, the current fare for your selected flight will be locked for seven days.
If the ticket prices go down, you’ll get an alert on your email. Thus, you’ll be able to book the ticket at the lowest price. If the fare goes up, GetFlyr will pay the difference. This website is just a few months old. As its features are exciting, we’ve added GetFlyr.com to our list.
Conclusion: I had tested seven websites, and only the above 5 generated relevant results. Along with the prediction utility, the above tools have a flight price tracker module. Apart from the hopper tool, I didn’t find any app the reciprocated the features that you’ll find in the above websites.
If you travel by air frequently, make sure that you use Hotwire, Kayak, Hopper or Momondo as these portals will let you save money by recommending cheapest flights for any class.
